Thrilla in Manila!

After 2 days of magic and 14 rounds of swiss, a champion has been declared. Unfortunately it was not a Filipino but he deserves to be champion nevertheless. Piloting his Kithkin (WW) Deck, Hironobu Suguya made his way to the top amidst an enormous amount of Faerie Decks. For me it was a successful event! With an attendance of 640 players, once again Filipino showed the world that we can host such big events and showcase our great players. The language barrier has been breached as Pro players from Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore, even France as Hall of Famer Raphael Levy, came to play. As for our team, I can say that we had a huge success! Ralf Santos went undeafeted in Day 1, he even went 11-0 and everyone was hoping that he will enter the Top 8. Unfortunately due to the complex computation of tie breaks, he finished 9th place overall which is heartbreaking for all of us since he was just behind by 1.08 points! Everyone did their best so we have no regrets after all.

I had so much fun watching the Japanese players compete. They are very humble people eventhough they're having a hard time speak in English. They have so much passion for this game and that's why they are so good at it.

Pacific Online!

Team Pacific is back, bigger and stronger. Gaming is our passion, and after four years we are expanding by adding more competitive games on our playlist. Let me introduce to you our players.

Ralf Allen "yukie" Santos

He's the head of the MTG department. Currently ranked 6th in the constructed rating in the Philippines. He's been playing MTG since gradeschool. Respected by most MTG players because of his skills and humility. Eventhough he is so good at this game, he continues to improve, every game played is a learning experience. "I dont care about losing my points, I just play and play." He also plays dota and warcraft and has been a member of Pacific Poker club.

Nathaniel "nat" Mallari

A player with a lot of potential. He already proved himself by winning a few tournaments and top 8 finishes.

Avs Lazo

A starcraft fanatic eversince, Avs didn't stop playing SC eventhough the game is already 10 years old. And now that Starcraft 2 is just around the corner, he is more ready than any player out there. Boasting a 300 APM (actions per minute), he continues to improve his multi-tasking skills and prepare for the challenges that SC2 will impose upon its players.

James "the Kap" Madriaga

He is the most famous "kap" in the dota community. He's been playing dota since 5.84c. His knowledge of the game is so vast that he can play almost play any hero in any given tournament. That's why his teammates call him "Mr. All-round".

Kristian "Shobe" Ballesteros

He is the best support player team pacific can offer. He can play killer heroes but being a support unit is where he really shines. Averaging 50 wards and 25 assists per game, his role in this team is indespensable. And one more thing, he hates losing.

Randy "Popoy" Adena

He never ceases to amaze people eveytime he uses Zues. Probably, the best Zues player around. Other teams respect his hero mastery so much that they have no choice but to ban his hero.

Harold "ruin/venon" Mallari

Once the most feared player of team pacific, Ruin's aggressiveness in the battlefield is still intact. The way he uses Terrorblade is unmatched. His role in the team has changed in order to give way to our younger and talented players.

Robert "def" Alba

The most versatile player of team pacific. Though not that active anymore, his style and strategy still influences this team.

Ezekiel "eL" Bernabe

One of pacific's successful discovery. A member of the Dynaquest's tripod (el,proi, dabe), he gained a lot of experience by joining Mineski's campaign during the ADC '07. Now that he's back, he's now ready to take over and command this team.

Jun "nice" Yanga

Regarded as one of the best player in PH, many teams don't want to play against him. No words can describe how good he really is, I just can't count how many times he had carried this team single handedly.

Carlo "olracz" Flores

The youngest yet the most exciting player in the team. His former team may not appreciate his game but here in team pacific we appreciate him so much. Because that is where he is at his best, just playing and having a lot of fun.

Froilan "proi" Maga

The 2nd member of the tripod, proi has leveled himself with eL in just a matter of months. He is now the go-to guy of the team and is proven to have leadership skills. He always provide the spark when the team needs it the most.

Andro Carlo "ac" Bejison

A great player like AC is what every team needs. He just love competition and his passion for this game is outstanding. He always give his best eveytime he plays.

Judge Giddeon "Iddo" Cruz

Probably the greatest addition in the roster of this team. His precise and agrressive approach is what makes him famous. Because at the end of the game, you can only remember his name.

Jomar "Sir Joms" Lunar

The most innovative player in this team. He uses uncommon heroes that we always use him to surprise other teams. He is fond of using skill-based heroes such as meepo, invoker, and pudge.

Dabe

The 3rd member of the tripod, there are times when dabe outshines both proi and el. Unlike the other tripods, he is more versatile because he can use a lot of heroes without compromising his skill.

Vinoks

He became a member of tripod when eL was playing for mineski. Though he lacks experience, vini proved himself to be a good player.

Special Mention:

Lemuel Odin

The leader of the famous La Magistral team. Odin has been a part of team pacific for quite some time before he joined other teams. He now runs his own computer shop business.

Rexile

Also a member of La Magistral, Rex is a veteran player whom you can count on. He is not afraid to compete with any teams. He always believe that with proper teamplay any team can outplay their oppositions.

Kent "kenny" Lim

Everybody loves Kenny. He is the loudest yet most cheerful player you will encounter when you play at Pacific. He hates losing even when playing public games. He is the mentor of the Ponso negros superstars, Markymark, Carlo, and Memel.

Vic

The most graceful and exciting player I've ever seen. He has the potential to be the best at this game. Unfortunately he had to prioritize his studies first. But when he's ready to play, expect him to be center of the spotlight again.

Collymanz

He is the 12th man of Team Pacific. Probably the most animated player I've ever played with. He used to play with us but he right now he is our indespensable morale booster.

Leo "pheee" Abon

Leo loves to experiment with a lot of heroes. In fact he pioneered Bristleback back when it was not used competitively. He is now busy with his office life but still tries to play with us every now and then.

Shiro

Shiro used to play with us a lot. But he had to prioritize his Law studies first. He is a very good player nevertheless.

Keith "S.A.K." Hernandez

Known by us as the "Future". Beware when you play with him during public games. Because he averages 20 killsteals per game!

The Managers:

RayAnn Santos

The man that binds this team and is keeping this team alive. He is known as Mr.Doublekill back in the days when he was playing. Giving way for our younger players, his role now is to support and develop their skills. For him, he considers this team as his second family.

Gerard "titzo" Chua

Known by everyone as Tito Manny, Gerard has been around and supporting this team for a long time. He accompanies them every game, every night till morning, through victory and defeat.
